Imerja delivers high performance solution to consolidate Check Point firewalls onto a single platform at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital

The Trust’s corporate network is accessed by its 2,200 employees, and other NHS organisations. With high usage demands on the network and the need to protect timely and very sensitive patient data, it is crucial that its firewalls do not create a bottleneck in the smooth flow of information.

The Trust recently upgraded to a Gigabit network that links its five sites, enabling quick and secure access to online patient records and support of other critical services. As part of its strategy to upgrade the Trust also wanted to consolidate its firewalls onto a single platform, providing greater throughput and reducing management complexity.

Imerja was appointed to provide a solution and recommended utilising the latest technology from Crossbeam, which provides an increased port density, multi-Gigabit throughput speeds and single management interface. The solution has freed up more time and resources for staff to concentrate on other mission critical activities.

Imerja has continued to work closely with the Trust providing solutions based on Extreme Networks, RSA and Check Point technologies, as well as technical consultancy, support and management services.
