Talentmap
The UK Talent Map, operated by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, is a framework to help employers identify and easily locate the appropriate education, skills and employment service most relevant to their particular needs and was first conceived in response to the challenges set out in the Leitch Report.
In 2008 the Talent Map concept was endorsed by Gordon Brown and ministers who subsequently agreed to support the next phase of development work. Talent Map offers a simple framework for creating a skills development plan and an interactive web-tool, able to draw intelligence from a wide range of databases. As a member of the Network21 consortium Imerja provided a Complex Hosting service for the TalentMap website. Working with other Network 21 consortium members Imerja provisioned a high-availability and secure web and database platform, along with an on-going service wrap from Imerja's complex hosting centre, in support of the government backed application.
Imerja was chosen for a number of reasons including our technical ability and agility; working to very tight timescales the solution was available to the development team within 2 weeks from order placement allowing website and database development to commence, and key project milestones to be met.
Network 21 is an experienced and innovative group of small companies and individuals who have a complementary set of skills and the ability to act in an agile and responsive manner. Led by Clicks and Links Ltd, Network 21 secured the project for the UK Talent Map Phase 3 for the UK Commission for Employment and Skills (UKCES). This is deemed critical in helping a successful progression of UK Talent Map and the deployment of the ‘talentplan’ toolkit. To undertake this project, Network 21 assembled 3 key partner organisations: Clicks and Links Ltd (for Technical Delivery and Project Assurance); Imerja Limited (resilient Technical Infrastructure and secure managed hosting); and ICE Ltd (Marketing and Communications via MarComms role).
