Imerja is delighted to announce a new customer, Cheshire-based exhibition trailer expert Event Marketing Solutions (EMS).

A new firewall infrastructure, supported by monitoring and managed services under Imerja’s m|four framework, will ensure business continuity for the company’s growing workforce, across its diverse IT estate both on the road and at its Ellesmere Port headquarters.

Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) own and operate the largest and most versatile fleet of exhibtion trailers in Europe, working with brands such as Marks and Spencer, Betfair and the British Heart Foundation.

Ian Jackson, managing director of Imerja, commented on the project: “EMS operates roadshows in over 40 countries, so its team fully takes advantage of remote working technologies, such as 3G internet access in roadshow vehicles and mobile devices for constant contact with clients.  As remote working technologies are often more open to security risks than network PCs, the new firewall solution will significantly strengthen the security position of the organisation.

“The monitoring and management of the infrastructure will further ensure business continuity, which is critical for a company that must be on hand at all stages of show operation.”

David Legg, finance director of EMS, said: “Imerja provides EMS with the market-leading technical support, knowledge and capacity, as well as monitoring critical applications around the clock, supplementary to our in-house resource.  The services from Imerja mean that our in-house team can concentrate on adding value through IT to the business.”

Report in CRN this week, Imerja has appointed a new non-exec to strengthen its board and support future growth.

Simon Beard, has been appointed to help Imerja achieve its 40 per cent growth target for its managed service offering. His CV includes the role of chief finance officer at Preston North End Football Club and a major role in the transformation and sale of Paramount Foods.

Imerja recently expanded its managed services capability with new facilities at its head office in Bolton, using grant funding from the North West Development Agency (NWDA) and help from the government-based Enterprise Finance Guarantee scheme from RBS. Earlier this year the VAR also launched its m|four services framework.

Ian Jackson, managing director of Imerja, said: “Imerja has gone from strength to strength in its six year history, and the NWDA’s grant has provided a considerable boost to the business at a critical time in our growth. However, we do not want to rest on our laurels – it is important that we build on this investment and now grow this area of the business aggressively.”

“We are very optimistic about the next 12 to 36 months,” he added. “Using Simon’s expertise we will push our managed service offering and the business as a whole to the next level of growth and profitability. We also plan to invest heavily in our sales and engineering teams and we are also considering acquisition opportunities.”

Beard said: “Imerja is a young and dynamic business and I am looking forward to channelling the energy of the board and, indeed, the whole company, to bring both financial success and increased market presence for the business.”

News on Imerja’s latest contract win was reported in the Manchester Evening News this week.  Indespension, national trailer manufacturer and retailer, has appointed Imerja to upgrade its business communications.

A new wide area network (WAN) infrastructure and hosting service, provided through Imerja’s new m|four services framework, will improve Indespension’s nationwide mobile network and enable the business to deliver dramatic operational cost savings, expected to exceed 50 per cent on its previous WAN and internet connection cost.
