Organisations are constantly faced with escalating business demands and an evolving compliance landscape. The costs associated with a data loss or system breach have increased with financial penalties being more frequently imposed by the ICO, FSA and other regulatory agencies.

Growth in mobility and the use of personal devices in the work place has added to the challenge of protecting your business, putting IT teams under pressure to reduce costs and complexity, and achieve more with existing resources. As a result, organisations are looking for an effective solution – one that is more simple, flexible and easier to manage.

As new threats and needs emerge, Check Point’s Software Blade architecture quickly and flexibly extends security services on-demand – without the addition of new hardware or management interfaces. All solutions are centrally managed through a single console that reduces complexity and operational overhead, delivering a lower total cost of ownership, faster return on investment and cost-efficient protection to meet any network security need – today and in the future.

Business IT solutions and managed services provider, Imerja, has made two new appointments designed to help grow its monitoring and managed service offering, mlfour.

Imerja launched the mlfour framework in August to help customers consolidate their voice, data and mobile solutions on a single infrastructure.

The reseller has now recruited two support engineers, Sam Kingdom and Zahan Al-Rashid, to man the secure operations centre that underpins service delivery through mlfour.

Imerja said that mlfour has landed five new managed services customers in the past quarter alone.

Ian Jackson, managing director at Imerja, said: “The demand for mlfour is growing and we anticipate this to continue at an increasing pace throughout 2011 as more businesses and public sector organisations, in particular, review their IT estates and look to save money via centralised monitoring and managed services.”

Imerja is delighted to announce a new customer, Cheshire-based exhibition trailer expert Event Marketing Solutions (EMS).

A new firewall infrastructure, supported by monitoring and managed services under Imerja’s m|four framework, will ensure business continuity for the company’s growing workforce, across its diverse IT estate both on the road and at its Ellesmere Port headquarters.

Event Marketing Solutions (EMS) own and operate the largest and most versatile fleet of exhibtion trailers in Europe, working with brands such as Marks and Spencer, Betfair and the British Heart Foundation.

Ian Jackson, managing director of Imerja, commented on the project: “EMS operates roadshows in over 40 countries, so its team fully takes advantage of remote working technologies, such as 3G internet access in roadshow vehicles and mobile devices for constant contact with clients.  As remote working technologies are often more open to security risks than network PCs, the new firewall solution will significantly strengthen the security position of the organisation.

“The monitoring and management of the infrastructure will further ensure business continuity, which is critical for a company that must be on hand at all stages of show operation.”

David Legg, finance director of EMS, said: “Imerja provides EMS with the market-leading technical support, knowledge and capacity, as well as monitoring critical applications around the clock, supplementary to our in-house resource.  The services from Imerja mean that our in-house team can concentrate on adding value through IT to the business.”
