The SOCITM annual conference is upon us once again, and we are delighted to be exhibiting at the event which is being held at the Brighton Hilton Metropole Hotel on 10th – 12th October.

With the public sector facing the biggest cuts in living memory, as well as new demands around transparency and openness, the conference is a key calendar date for public sector IT professionals who want to tackle the challenge head on. We will be demonstrating a range of services that help deliver compliance as well as drive efficiencies in the public sector, including DLP technology and other cost saving solutions from Check Point.

This October will see Imerja’s fifth appearance at the SOCITM annual exhibition. The event is being held at Edinburgh International Conference Centre on the 11th – 13th October where Imerja will be situated on stand 8 on the second level, Cromdale Hall.

The SOCITM exhibition is widely thought of as a great chance to enhance the professional development of companies and their customers alike. The association has over 1900 members from 550 organisations, many of which attend to gain an updated knowledge about the development and use of ICT around the UK. For Imerja, attendance is an invaluable opportunity to talk face to face with both potential and current customers about the IT security solutions and services they can provide.

With over 1900 members from 550 different organisations including 98% of all UK local authorities, Socitm provides a widely respected forum for the promotion, use and development of ICT best practice. It also plays a leading role in the implementation of local e-government in the UK. The Society is a significant provider of advice and guidance on ICT and e-government to local authorities. Socitm offers a growing range of services including publications, conferences, events, training, research and consultancy.

This year’s Annual Conference took place from 1st to 3rd October at the Harogate International Centre. In addition to providing sponsorship at the event Imerja exhibited throughout providing delegates the opportunity to talk to representatives about the IT security solutions and services it can provide, and the Government Connect programme which Imerja has been involved with from the start.

Specifically, delegates were able to learn more about the unique Enabling Government Connect service that Imerja is providing in partnership with the NCC Group – details below.

Enabling Government Connect

Imerja has joined forces with independent consultancy NCC Group to provide local authorities wishing to join Government Connect with a tailor made package of professional services which will take them from zero to connected with minimal fuss or disruption to their organisation.

Government Connect provides a secure and sustainable framework to securely transmit electronic communications, enabling local government and its partners from other public sector organisations, and the third sector, to deliver personalised joined up services to their customers and offer service improvement. The “enabling” service from Imerja and NCC Group provides an uncomplicated three stage approach which will ensure a seamless implementation from development of the initial business case through to compliance.

The service will be delivered by a team of experienced consultants from NCC Group and Imerja, bringing together the strengths of NCC Group’s independent ICT, information and business consultants with Imerja’s ICT infrastructure security specialists, and drawing on the team’s combined expertise and extensive experience of local government ICT projects.
